By the time Chris Horvath walked down the aisle, there were already astronauts in the woods. Mario and Luigi were there, too. Then came Chris in a black lace gown, its train trailing over the leaves, with Zachary waiting beneath a wooden arch dressed in orange and yellow flowers.
They got married on October 30, 2026, at the Cross-Thomas House and Event Center in Blackstone, Virginia. Holding a wedding the day before Halloween gave their guests a good excuse to dress up. In one of the photos, four kids in matching astronaut suits sit shoulder to shoulder on a bench under the trees.
There’s a quieter frame I keep coming back to. Zachary is holding Chris’s hand during the ring exchange, and you can see the lace at her wrist. Later, out by the late-season flowers, I photographed their hands again, this time with both rings on and her bouquet beside them. In the wider portrait, you can see just how far that black lace train went when Chris spread it out across the grass.
Inside the event center, little pumpkins held the flowers on the tables. There were cupcakes stacked in tiers and a cake topper that leaned into the Halloween theme. In the middle of it all, I got a photograph of Chris and Zachary sitting side by side at their table, with the flowers between them.
If you know Chris and Zachary from The Kitchen Table LLC, you might be used to seeing them serve smash burgers around Blackstone. I’m glad I got to photograph them on this side of the table.
